Niche digital product

Laravel platform for auto dismantling: catalog, donors, and inquiries in one system

We designed a working digital operation for an auto dismantling business rather than a conventional online store. The product reflects the reality that every used part has a specific condition, completeness, fitment, inventory source, and requires manager verification.

The public catalog, donor vehicles, inventory, inquiries, and admin workflows operate as one system — from the first search to reserving an exact stock position.

Business challenge

Business challenge: remove the gap between inventory and inquiries

Before an owned system is introduced, part data often lives across spreadsheets, chats, phone notes, and external marketplaces. A customer sends a vague message, while the manager spends time clarifying the vehicle, fitment, condition, and actual availability.

The challenge was to turn this into a manageable workflow without removing expert verification where it is genuinely required.

Project composition

Implemented modules

  • One catalog source

Bring full part cards, lightweight stock positions, and donor-vehicle parts into one searchable system.

  • More inquiry context

Receive vehicle data, VIN, selected positions, notes, and preferred fulfillment method with every inquiry.

  • Availability under control

Keep condition, completeness, and fitment verification under manager control before confirmation.

  • Owned sales channel

Build a catalog and customer base owned by the business and able to grow beyond marketplaces.

Product architecture

A catalog built around the real nature of used parts

The catalog model is centered on the vehicle and the exact stock position. Customers can start with make and model, category, part name, SKU, or OEM number, then narrow the result by year, price, and availability.

Three inventory sources support both fully described products and fast-moving stock that does not require a complete product page for every small part.

06 implemented modules and project capabilities

Project composition

Implemented modules

  • Complete part pages

Images, price, condition, completeness, OEM, fitment, delivery, consultation, and inventory source.

  • Lightweight stock positions

Add operational inventory without preparing a full product page for every position.

  • Donor vehicle stock

Record available parts directly inside the exact donor vehicle record.

  • Vehicle-based search

Make, model, year, and category narrow the catalog to relevant positions.

  • OEM, SKU, and title

Several search paths work in parallel for customers with different levels of product knowledge.

  • Make and model pages

Dedicated SEO catalogs for specific vehicles create clear structure and organic entry points.

Customer journey

From search to one structured inquiry

Instead of sending many disconnected messages, the customer builds one selection list. It can contain up to 20 positions, item-level notes, and vehicle context delivered to the manager in a single inquiry.

The flow does not imitate instant checkout: a manager confirms condition, completeness, fitment, and fulfillment before the sale.

Project composition

Implemented modules

  • Search or donor entry

The customer finds a position through the catalog, OEM search, or a specific donor vehicle.

  • Selection list

Several parts are grouped into one inquiry without repeating contact details.

  • Vehicle data and VIN

The manager immediately receives the context required for fitment verification.

  • Item-level notes

The customer can specify side, color, completeness, or other important details.

  • Manager confirmation

Actual availability and condition are checked before final confirmation.

  • Exact position reservation

The agreed quantity is reserved until a set time and can return to sale automatically after expiry.

Operational workflow

Donor vehicles, vehicle intake, and inventory movement

A donor vehicle is not just an image in the system. It is a separate entity with specifications, dismantling status, available parts, and links to customer inquiries.

A second inbound workflow works in the opposite direction: a vehicle owner can submit a car for dismantling and provide specifications, documents, condition details, and photos for initial evaluation.

Project composition

Implemented modules

  • Donor vehicle catalog

Filtering by make, model, and year, recent arrivals, and a dedicated page for every vehicle.

  • Dismantling status

The team tracks the vehicle workflow and manages availability of linked positions.

  • Donor-specific inquiry

Customers can ask for a part even before a complete product page has been published.

  • Vehicle intake

A dedicated form collects specifications, condition, documents, contacts, and up to six images.

  • One inquiry queue

Part inquiries, consultations, and vehicle intake requests enter one manageable admin workflow.

System management

Customer portal and admin tools for daily operations

The public interface solves discovery, but the product continues to deliver value after a form is submitted. Customers see inquiry history and statuses, while the team manages catalog and requests in one administrative environment.

Project composition

Implemented modules

  • Inquiry history

Customers see every inquiry, included positions, and current processing status.

  • Profile and delivery

Contact and delivery information is retained for future inquiries.

  • Active reservations

The portal shows confirmed positions and reservation expiry.

  • Catalog and vehicle references

Admins manage makes, models, years, categories, OEM data, and inventory.

  • Inquiries and statuses

Managers process inquiries, record decisions, and reserve exact positions.

  • CSV import

Large text-based inventory sets can be imported in bulk instead of creating every record manually.

Organic growth

Content and SEO as a long-term acquisition channel

The catalog is designed for more than internal convenience. Part, donor, make, and model pages create a semantic structure that can grow through useful content and internal linking.

This gives the business an owned organic-search asset alongside advertising and marketplaces.

Project composition

Implemented modules

  • Indexable part pages

Every complete part page has its own URL, description, specifications, and vehicle links.

  • Make and model pages

Catalog landing pages target specific vehicle-related searches.

  • Donor vehicle pages

Recent arrivals create additional entry points and demonstrate real inventory.

  • Useful content and FAQ

Editorial content answers customer questions and links to relevant inventory.

  • Editable metadata

The admin panel supports titles, descriptions, and page structure without code changes.

Project outcome

Outcome: a complete digital workflow, not a collection of pages

The finished platform does not isolate catalog, inventory, donor vehicles, inquiries, and content. Data moves from customer-facing workflows into administrative operations without repeated manual entry.

The architecture leaves room for integrations, additional roles, branches, new inventory sources, and further workflow automation.

Project composition

Implemented modules

  • Structured sales flow

Managers receive contextual inquiries tied to exact positions rather than vague messages.

  • Manageable inventory

Three inventory sources, reservations, and donor links represent real stock movement.

  • Team autonomy

Catalog data, inquiries, content, and reference data are maintained through the admin panel.

  • Foundation for scaling

The Laravel product can grow without replacing its core system.
